A Simpler Way to Shade Your Patio
DIY Patio Shades is a lightweight aluminum awning that mounts under your roofline using a US-patented bracket system. The brackets attach to your open eave rafters, which are those exposed beams along the underside of your roofline overhang.
The kit ships in one box with the frame, shade cloth, brackets, and all mounting hardware. It weighs 20 pounds total. You supply a drill, a ladder, and a wrench.
When storms or winter arrive, you unhook the shade cloth from four bungee cord attachment points and store it flat. The aluminum frame stays mounted year-round.

This is the most important thing to confirm before you buy. DIY Patio Shades mounts to open eave rafters, which are those exposed wooden beams visible under the edge of your roofline. If your eaves are enclosed with a flat panel (called a soffit), this awning won't attach.
